Mayank Bhushan

Graduate Student Researcher

Mayank Bhushan is a first-year Master of Public Policy student at the Goldman School of Public Policy. He was born in India and grew up across a host of different states in India. He started out as a data analyst but found his true calling in data-driven and evidence-based public policy. Prior to joining the MPP program at Berkeley, he worked in policy research at the J-PAL South Asia office in New Delhi. As part of the Innovations in Data and Experiments for Action (IDEA) initiative, he worked towards facilitating and promoting the use of administrative data by governments, non-profits, and researchers, in the production of high-quality empirical evidence.

Mayank hopes to combine his data science background with economics and policy training to work on development policy and poverty alleviation in developing countries.

In his free time, Mayank loves cooking and listening to music. He also spends countless hours curating his watchlist of movies and TV shows. He is also an avid fan of football — especially the Premier League — and a huge Arsenal F.C. supporter!
