Pedro Edwards

Pedro Edwards is a Master of Public Policy student at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy. His research focuses on how places, institutions, and relationships shape the real opportunities people have to develop across the life course. He is applying this perspective to early childhood education access in California, using spatial analysis to examine how the organization and distribution of services can create or constrain developmental pathways.

At Berkeley, Pedro has also contributed to research on youth civic engagement and to an economic-impact study of UC Berkeley’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem for the City of Berkeley.

Before GSPP, Pedro co-founded Flor de Lis, a community-based nonprofit in Santiago, Chile. He later taught mathematics at a school serving a highly vulnerable student population, worked with rural communities to support entrepreneurship, and led circular-economy projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Chile and is a native Spanish speaker.
