We’re seeking a Research Associate to work on applied research projects, covering a range of possible topics such as criminal justice, housing, education and public health, with a focus on data-driven public policy. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-sufficient and detail-oriented; works well as part of a diverse and collaborative team; and has experience with some or all of the following: gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data; designing and conducting research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. We’re seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in political science, sociology, economics or a related field with a strong proven interest in applied research that helps to inform and support public-sector leaders in advancing social justice, equity, and civic engagement. Current Opportunity: Graduate Student Researchers (Summer 2025)
We’re seeking applications for summer GSRs who are an integral part of the lab’s projects conducting applied, data-driven research with public-sector and nonprofit partners. We have a wide range of ongoing projects at different stages: conversations with community and government partners, research design, survey experiments and randomized interventions, participatory data collection, data analysis, and drafting publications. The position is a 50%-100% appointment for Summer 2025. Applicants must be enrolled at UC Berkeley as a graduate student and meet all eligibility requirements.
