Simran Kaur

Graduate Student Researcher

Simran is a Master’s of Public Policy student at the Goldman School. She is interested in using data and community-informed policy to address economic and racial inequality issues. As a GSR, Simran is researching how public notification requirements can obstruct affordable housing development in California. She is also working on a statewide survey for the Lab’s Abundance Accelerator initiative.

Before graduate school, Simran worked on energy efficiency and affordability issues at the California Public Utilities Commission. She also has experience in the nonprofit space. Simran holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
