CA vs Hate, a program of the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), is the state’s first-ever multilingual statewide hotline and online portal that provides a safe, anonymous reporting option for victims and witnesses of hate. In addition to documenting hate incidents, CA vs Hate partners with community based organizations throughout the state to connect victims to resources and support, including care coordination services. We have partnered with CA vs Hate to help build the infrastructure needed for stronger public reporting and data transparency. This includes engagement and research efforts focused on refining reporting processes to increase accessibility and trust, improving data quality to better capture hate in CA, and expanding the availability of data resources that can inform both policy and community-based responses to hate.
