As part of the ongoing state effort to engage and inform California’s low-wage workers on issues of health and safety, wage and hour, protected activity, benefits and other working conditions, the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is funding local organizations to host One Stop Shop clinics that will deliver comprehensive outreach, education, and support to California farmworkers through the Rural Strategic Engagement (RSE) program. Local community-based organizations and state labor agencies will coordinate monthly clinics around the state, and these clinics will provide a centralized location for multiple agencies to streamline access to services, improve worker engagement, and enhance interagency collaboration. The Possibility Lab will embed evidence-based practices into the clinics’ design and will systematically evaluate the clinics’ outcomes.
