Naomi Levy
Faculty Affiliate and Director, Community Engaged Research

Naomi Levy is Associate Professor of Political Science at Santa Clara University and a Senior Researcher at the Possibility Lab. Dr. Levy’s research centers on the relationships between ordinary citizens and the state, with a particular focus on post-conflict contexts. Her work asks how individuals’ understandings of their various political identities are shaped by the state’s delivery of public services and, in turn, how these understandings affect inter-group dynamics and state legitimacy. She also includes methodological questions as part of her scholarly pursuits.

Levy received her PhD from the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, and also holds an MA in Social Sciences of Education from Stanford University School of Education. Her scholarship has been published in a broad range of academic journals, and she has received funding for her work from the American Council of Learned Societies, the Minerva Initiative, and the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
