Conversations with Possibility is a speaker series hosted by the Possibility Lab at the University of California that brings together dynamic changemakers whose innovative approaches and ideas are improving public sector leadership and civic engagement in California and beyond. The goal of this speaker series is to foster the exchange of ideas, spark creative solutions, and facilitate thought-provoking discussions around some of the country’s most pressing public policy challenges.
Our April 23, 2024, conversation focused on the important intersections between government, politics, and journalism, featuring the following leading reporters:
Marisa Lagos, KQED California Politics and Government Desk
Melanie Mason, POLITICO Senior Political Reporter
Laurel Rosenhall, Los Angeles Times Sacramento Bureau Chief
Reporters discussed their careers and best practices for covering government and politics and take questions from the audience. The panel was moderated by the Lab’s Senior Advisor, Strategy & Public Affairs, Jesse Melgar, M.P.P. Photos courtesy of Shoey Sindel Photography.
